Ate: Chips, Salsa, Tamales de Puerco en Chile Verde (tomatillo-serrano braised pork in steamed masa dumplings), Ensalada de Calamares (crispy calamare-citrus salad with chorizo croutons and frisee), Crepas Poblanos (chicken, roasted poblanos, sweet corn crepes, and poblano cream), and plenty of Margaritas.

Feliz Cinco de Mayo! And a friendly reminder that Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day (that's 16 September). Rocking Horse is probably my favorite restaurant in NYC and today they went all out - every dish was delicious. A friend had the Mixiote (slow roasted Niman Ranch natural pork in red chile rub with plantain puree and collard greens) and another had the Tacos de Carne Asada (ancho-lime hanger steak, avocado-tomatillo salsa with handmade tortillas) that were both amazing. All this great food along with mariachis made a perfect night.
